So, if you have been keeping up you know the whole point of Money Yoga is stretching cash that you already have! Our mission is to combine traditional and non traditional ways to get more out of your money. Question- What is the most overlooked liquid asset that you have on hand??? Not sure what you answered, but answer is coins! Yes, quarters, dimes, nickels and the under rated penny! Some friends laugh at me because I will break my neck to pick up a penny on the ground. I actually value that penny because I know it adds up. And when its all said and done that penny just increased my net worth and all I had to do was pick it up!
I'm positive most of you have a jar or can or bucket where you throw your coins at the end of the day or week or whenever the opportuinty presents itself. But, I have 2 questions for you. 1. When is the last time you did something with the coins sitting there collecting dust, or the ones in the cushions of your couch, the ones in your car cup holder, or ladies the ones at the bottom of your purse? 2. Do you think you could be earning interest on those coins or buying something you need? I am on a mission and I challenge you to join me! Since spring just started last week I know many of you are sprucing up your homes, cleaning and de-cluttering your spaces and finding all kinds of loose change. I want you to collect all of that change, put it in one container and finally put it to use! I have started my cleaning and collecting and will let you know how much I find by Sunday 4/3/2016. I am going to take it to Coinstar to have it counted and cashed in for an Amazon gift card! When you opt for a gift card you don't pay a fee unlike the cash option where Coinstar charges you 10%! Let's make ALL of our money work for us! Check those cushions, the car, the bottom of your purse, and wherever you leave it collecting dust! Ready, Get Set, Go!!!
