I gave you Mission 1 and 2 trying to have a little Beyonce theme going, (My Beyhivers will get that), but I realized I never told you why I started this journey!
Let's just jump right in, I've always liked money and I've always liked spending it. The problem with that is without the correct making money: spending money ratio, you end up broke! I have always wanted to be able to buy whatever I want but keep my money in my pocket at the same time! So, I guess in my case that old cake saying that we are all so fond of should really be, "I want to have my money and spend it too!" Because of that, I am determined to figure out how to do both even though I am a single mom, with a monthly daycare bill of $2071.20 and a host of other expenses. Yes I said, "A monthly daycare bill of $2071.20." And don't get me wrong I have help from their dad, and my parents even help out with certain things but jeez that is a lot of money!!! I work full-time at a pretty decent job with a decent salary and even own a couple of rental properties. But, that still doesn't mean I can run out and shop till I drop without patting Peter down to make sure I can take care of Paul.
So, I decided I needed to do something! My first thought and probably most people's first thought when dealing with money issues is, " I need more money!" So then the question becomes how do I get/make more. I have dreamed of winning the lottery more times than I can count, I have started more new businesses than I care to mention and worked so many part time jobs than a stereotypical Jamaican. All to end up right where I started... wanting more money!
Finally, I decided instead of constantly trying to get more money why not find ways to stretch the money I have, making it last longer and accomplish more. I will use this blog/website to document my journey. I will be started an online savings account that will be dedicated to my journey, and I will share my balance as it grows. Well that's assuming it will grow :-)
Check out my Bank Account!
